We often talk to clients about the difference between the features of the product or service they offer and their marketing proposition. Many times this begins with an explanation of what we mean by a marketing proposition; what’s the big idea that you stand for? With the majority of detail held at the features and advantages level it can be difficult to take step back and see the bigger picture.
A recent TV commercial really summed this up for me and since seeing it a few weeks ago I have mentioned it in many conversations. The service on offer is help and advice with debt problems, but the ad shows lots of people getting a good, worry-free night’s sleep. After all, that is the end product they provide through their service – peace of mind.
